A great pleasure to host Sarah McQuaid’s return visit to the Old Baptist Chapel in Tewkesbury on Friday 29th November.  A near sell-out crowd again, and so much positive feedback. No doubt about it: Sarah never fails to entertain. She is a polished and engaging performer, accomplished musician and sensitive songwriter.
A pleasure to see Sarah at Sterts last night - truly engaging, lyrical and technically amazing in equal measure. Thank you both for including Sterts on your tour and I hope you enjoy a well earned rest with the family.
Excellent evening of terrific music from Sarah , an unexpected bonus of a triple shadow effects during her performance after we turned the lights off, really enhanced the atmosphere, great sound set up from Martin ,
Thank you, Sarah, for such wonderful songs and tunes at The Bridge Folk Club, superbly done, and thanks to Martin for his truly excellent sound and lighting input – what a team you make! You are both totally professional and a real delight to host Everyone at The Bridge last night knows they were very lucky to see you in our lovely room that allows us to be close to the performer – we suspect the next time you’re here in Godzone country you’ll be in much bigger venues (Sage Gateshead should be booking you for Hall One. Are you listening, Sage?) Any music venue out there that is reading this – book Sarah NOW for a standout gig
I have seen a lot of eloquent comments about Sarah McQuaids shows and they are good but bollox, she reached parts other singers fail to do (heineken Girl!) there is emotion, beauty, passion and musically great arrangements and fab playing its a complete package I loved the show and was very moved
Enjoyed the concert tonight in Caerleon, South Wales. Thank you.
There must have been a pre concert synchronicity at work what with the song about a pheasant and pheasant curry on the menu! We had a lovely evening Sarah so thanks to you and Martin for the wizardry.
What a talented and very hard working woman is Sarah McQuaid. We had the pleasure of having her come to Chettle last night for the first time and she gave us a warm and wonderful performance, assisted by her equally talented technician, Martin. Sarah charmed her audience and the glowing reports are coming in. Delightful people to work with and will surely be back!
What can I say about Sarah that will do justice to her performance? I have booked over 600 artistes over the last 25 years for Folk on the Moor and this qualifies as one of the most polished and professional performances I have ever had the pleasure of watching. She captured even the most jaded old folkies in our audience from the very first note! Her songs were performed with skill and love, her delivery was full of easy charm and gentle wit. Beautiful songs accompanied with great skill on guitar, a joy to listen to! Can't wait until the next time Sarah!
We had another excellent performance from Sarah McQuaid last Saturday at Praa Sands Community Centre.Beautiful singing and guitar playing and look forward to having her back again in the near future. The combination of original songs ,folk songs and standards was delightful, with the use of loops to enhance the performance. Not to be missed
We had the pleasure of hosting Sarah recently at the Rawlins Music Academy and it was a fantastic experience. The music was amazing, her sound engineer was great, and they were a blast to hang with while getting setup. The crowd loved it as well! If you get an opportunity to go to a show, or even host her at a venue please take advantage, you will not regret it.
We've hosted so many wonderful musicians over the last nine years and you added another amazing evening to our "best of" list. Our audience was completely captivated by your songs and voice and you are such a talented guitarist! I've had a chance to see quite a few people who were at the show over the last two days (the benefits of small-town living) and everyone is still buzzing. Sending you love and best wishes from this tiny corner of the world. --Mary-Nell
Thank you for bringing such a lovely, enchanting evening of music to our Progressive Voices Concert Series in Des Moines, IA. While I have enjoyed listening to several of your wonderful albums ahead of time in anticipation of your concert here, I was amazed at the subtleties and richness of your captivating voice in a live show that the recordings could not convey. To anyone who loves Sarah McQuaid's recordings, I beseech you to not miss an opportunity to hear her live. You will be even more greatly rewarded!
Wow! What a delightful show we had here last night. My expectations were high, but the reality was so much better than I could imagine! Performing live, your voice is just so multi-dimensional and rich. And I love that you smile with such joy the whole time you are performing. Martin's contributions are wonderful as well. Please come back whenever you can...
Beautiful voice and lovely spirit! We loved your concert here in Utah! Thank you!!
Wonderful show here at White Horse Black Mountain. Even better the second time around ! Bob H.
I missed your show in Kernersville, NC—thirty minutes away from where I live!—for reasons beyond my control (the reasons being of course that, while I once was *famous* in my family for my memory, 54 years old is 54 years old and sometimes stuff slips betwixt the cracks!) but I checked your schedule and the next night? "Only" a couple hours away in Gastonia! No problem; I got this! Seriously though, this was a fantastic, TRANSCENDENT performance: a capella vocal, acoustic guitar, instrumental guitar, electric guitar*, story-telling, piano (a mere five feet away from me! That was amazing!) Just an all-around wonderful, inspiring, thought-provoking and supremely entertaining performance! I had a two hour drive home and was so happy afterward I was grinning like a ninny the entire time! (Other motorists surely thought I was nuts, but then, what else is new, eh?) :-) Steve Russillo High Point, NC, USA - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - *And well-done-you on the new Hamer, btw! As a guitarist myself I wanted to chat about that in addition to all the other stuff we spoke about afterward, but you might have noticed I was a goofy little star-struck school-boy!
Really enjoyed the DADGAD workshop held in Belper. Amazing voice, I'm certainly inspired! Hope to see you again soon
Hello Sarah, Thank you (and Martin) for a wonderful performance at Wath Festival. Such a lovely voice accompanied by great guitar work and tech. wizardry from Martin. It makes all the months of hard work and preparation worth while when we're blessed with such magic.
Your workshop was inspiring, especially for an old guitarist like me whose fingers are too arthritic to make clean barre chords. Your concert was delightful: despite hard seats it flew by. Perfect proof of the potential of DADGAD! Huge thanks for both Arnie (Comfort the challenged, challenge the comfortable - Woody Guthrie)
Hi Sarah. Fantastic night at the Belper Arts Festival last night, thank you - great stage presence and guitar work, and a wonderful voice. Your earlier DADGAD workshop was inspiring, but did not prepare us for the quality and breadth of your performance. Anyone not attending missed a real treat. Jon
I went to Sarah's workshop this morning having no knowledge of DADGAD but came away inspired. I wish I'd know all this many years ago when I was struggling to copy Davy Graham but wasn't aware of anything but standard guitar tuning. Looking forward now to Sarah's concert tonight.
I am a singer songwriter currently engaged on the Masters programme in Songwriting in The Irish Workd Academy in Limerick and was delighted to meet Sarah last week for a series of workshops and attend her lunchtime concert at the Academy. Her DADGD workshop was well planned and thought out and has already inspired me to write a song using this tuning. Her songwriting workshop highlighted innovative processes that I have not used before. Her Q&A session on the music business was informative and also very grounding. Sarah has a wonderful lightness about her that shines through in her music and performance and I am delighted to have had the opportunity to meet her. Claire
I'm the Course Director of the MA in Songwriting at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance located in the University of Limerick. In a previous role I presented and curated various radio programmes on our National Broadcaster RTE, including 10 years on the highly acclaimed late night programme The Blue of The Night. So Sarah McQuaid was a familiar sound to my ears and indeed a frequent inclusion on my playlists. When I took over this new role as Course Director I was determined to have Sarah as a visiting tutor for both a DADGAD guitar workshop AND a songwriting one. Both were received ecstatically by our students who have voracious appetites for good music. Sarah engaged so beautifully and made both workshops a memorable experience. We were blessed also with a live performance at our Lunchtime Concert Series where she enthralled the audience with her musicality, virtuosity and her unique and endearing charisma - she charmed the room. Cant wait to have her back. Carl
We were privileged to host you at the Granary Library Limerick on Wednesday night. What a wonderful performance - timeless music that felt ancient and contemporary at the same time! Nod to Martin too, who did great work on the sound.
Stunning vocals, excellent live sound quality, engaging narrative with the audience - an all round musical treat.
Fabulous to host the amazingly-talented Sarah. Highly recommended. Hopefully she will come back again soon.
We had the great fortune to have Sarah play a House Concert for us. It was a magical evening that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. The range of songs and Sarah's musicianship made a brilliant night.
Thanks Sarah for a great show from all at The Parrot, Carmarthen
Sarah's performance is at once ethereal, tough and mesmerizing. Her engaging stage presence , beautiful voice and amazing songs transport the listener to another realm indeed. If you have the opportunity please go and hear this wonderful performer.
Saw Sarah in Northboro, Massachusetts, 13 Oct 2018 at an intimate concert. She mixed it up with a variety of musical accompaniments to her original songs from acoustic to electric to percussion. In addition to her phenomenal guitar work, her voice covers an amazing range from smooth deep tones reminiscent of Carly Simon to seemingly effortless higher notes. Sarah is very comfortable with her audience and they become quickly enamored with her.
Dataw Island's Folk at the Cannery (FAC) was enthralled by Sarah McQuaid last night. She took the audience on a melodious journey through places that she's captured in her own songs. As the room was a bit warm, Sarah was glowing with a smile that radiated through the full house. She mixed styles spanning centuries and continents while varying her accompaniment and electronic effects (handled capably by Martin). Each song sounded distinctly different than the others and that kept me and the other listeners totally attentive and delighted. Sarah is nice fit for FAC!
We all enjoyed the mystical music of Sarah Mcquaid! Thank you to all who joined us to welcome her.
Sarah -- what a great show in Dayton -- hope you can make it back to Yellow Cab next time you're passing through.
We had a wonderful evening of music from Sarah at Praa Sands Community. A very friendly event, much appreciated by our audience.Beautiful guitar playing and singing, great songs abetted by Martin's brilliant tasteful use of loops. We look forward to having her perform for us again next year, hopefully.Highly recommended. A magical night to remember created by a most tallented and acomplished musician....Sarah and Martin....you were both truly amazing...life is all about making memories and you sure did that for those lucky enough be at your gig last Friday. Glad you got to play at the RUM SHACK....i know theres a song there somewhere....! keep making music... Much love and best wishes for the rest of your tour Fi and Tony Xxx
Those who appreciate great acoustic music and can discern true talent and quality will recognise that Sarah represents all of these and which combine to generate a spellbinding, varied and highly enjoyable performance. Thanks for bringing a touch of class to The Milton Rooms and leaving the audience with such delightful memories. X
Thanks To Sarah and Martin for travelling to the hills of Northumberland to entertain a very appreciative audience. Everyone enjoyed it hugely, judging by the feedback so far. Accordingly Twango promotions will be happy to see you here in the North Penninesasain one day sooner than later Phil
I first saw Sarah perform at the Roses theatre in Tewkesbury back in February this year. Suffice to say that I thought highly enough of the gig that when attending to family business in Scotland last week, I took the opportunity drive over to Dunoon and take in the gig at the Uig community hall. Sarah is a very accomplished musician, has a beautiful voice and writes some very intelligent and thought provoking songs. The fact that she is also the most gracious and engaging of human beings makes it a joy to be in her company. If you get the chance to attend one of her concerts, you owe it to yourself to experience this for yourself - you will not be disappointed ! With best wishes, Alan
Sarah, so glad i attended your workshop in Belmullet on DADGAD, I really enjoyed it will persevere in learning those lovely chords. Good luck with rest of tour. Regards Sylvie.
Its always a pleasure to have Sarah perform at Ards Arts Centre (Co. Down). Another sell out show and an audience captivated by a beautiful voice, hypnotic musicianship and storytelling from the heart. You must catch Sarah live if you can.
Sarah. Firstly, thank-you for the "intimate" concert in Belmullet last night. Small audiences often make for a more enjoyable event. Those who didn't/could't attend really missed out. Secondly, a big thank-you for the DADGAD masterclass in the afternoon. It was probably the most useful hour-and-a-half I have spent in 40yrs of messing with guitars. Also, thanks for the speedy dispatch of the pdfs of the lesson. I hope the rest of the tour goes well. Greetings from the wild west of Ireland. Paul.
You filled Nuneaton LIbrary with the most beautiful music & song last week, thank you, and our audience obviously agreed. Here are just a few of their comments: 'Brilliant evening. Fantastic performer' 'Excellent evening. She's so natural and 'in the moment' 'A great night and super performance, full of integrity and meaning' Thank you so much. Gill
Thanks Sarah for a wonderful gig at Nuneaton Library last night. It was a first for you ( in a library) and a first for us in Nuneaton ! Just perfect. Your songs and music melt the heart. Look forward to welcoming you back to Warwickshire soon! Jan
Hi Sarah, the last song, a song without instruments in Marburg, this was so great..tears went by, i will never forget, Jürgen Wagner
Hi Sarah, just a quick note to say how much I enjoyed your gig at the Sheepdip and following morning DADGAD workshop (probably the best workshop I’ve been to - well structured, lots of info plus handouts). Good luck with your new album and the rest of the tour too
Thank you Sarah for the DADGAD workshop at the Sheep Dip last weekend. You gave a very good intro to playing in DADGAD tuning with a very interesting insight on how and why you have used DADGAD over the years. The informal approach made me feel relaxed and I learnt quite a lot in a very short space of time. I feel inspired to learn more about DADGAD and acoustic music in general. Thank you so much and I hope to catch you next time you are in the Coventry area – Steve Ford
Sarah McQuaid's show deserves to rate amongst the finest The Greys, Brighton has hosted - and she's in very, very good company. A beautiful voice to wallow in and absorbing music. A wide range of top notch songs, with acoustic and electric guitar, a smattering of piano, side drum and acapella; from the simplest of clear notes to complex swathes of sound, mixed live (thumbs up to Martin engineering so deftly). Beautiful stuff. We really hope to be able to bring you back to this most intimate setting. So pleased you had a good time.
what wondrous sounds - splendid songs, beautiful playing (oh, and that electric guitar!)and a voice that completely captivated the audience (and me!). such a fab evening on monday. so glad we sorted the gig - hurry back. huge thanks to sarah (and to martin for twiddling those knobs to create magnificence). cheers, from sunny brighton, paul (+ ashley)
We had to wait a long time to find a suitable date for Sarah to come and play at Folk in the Barn, but it was well worth the wait. A really super evening. Sarah entertained, and informed, and beguiled us with her fascinating stories and meaningful songs and playing. Thank you Sarah and Martin for your professional approach and beautiful sound.
What a great new album, thanks!!! Jackie and Fred, the Netherlands
Really enjoyed workshop.would suit all levels and Sarah has a great teaching style.Inspired me to play new stuff.Thankyou again.
Brilliant workshop - thank you very much.
Thanks so much for the excellent gig last night, Sarah. Everybody enjoyed it. You're a truly impressive guitarist, singer and songwriter.
Evesham Arts Centre 27th July 2017: a captivating evening of sublime music and thought-provoking songs from the remarkable Sarah McQuaid. An inspirational guitarist and writer of sensitive, incisive lyrics who is blessed with a voice that soothes the soul.
Really enjoyed the set and workshop at Stainsby festival - I have owned your Dadgad book for a number of years and great to see you live for the first time. The workshop was really interesting and informative - yet informal and welcomed all - a great teaching style and such a talented performer that was approachable and yet humble. Fantastic to both enjoy something and learn so much at the same time - Thanks
I’ve had Sarah’s DADGAD book for 20 years now. It’s wonderful, and is the definitive guide to the genre. I finally got to attend one of Sarah’s workshops and see her perform just last weekend at Stainsby Festival. She was wonderful, and obviously I’ve come away with some CDs and a head full of ideas to try out myself.
Great sets and dadgad workshop at Stainsby! Thank you! CDs are great too and
I am a professional guitar maker and musician from the Republic of Ireland and I was lucky enough to be able to attend Sarah's DADGAd tutorial in Ards, Co. Down, Northern Ireand, this Spring. I was so grateful to attend a group workshop given by a musician that is so highly regarded in the musical hub of Galway and throughout the celtic music world generally. I must say that the highlight of the Ards Guitar Festival for me was watching Sarah McQuaid entertain. She played a very visceral set, but when she performed a song (from her most recent CD) which she wrote called 'I am Grateful for what I have', I was moved so much that I went home with the idea of asking her for the sheet music for the piece. I bought her Irish DADGAd Guitar book that night and gained such an understanding of DADGAd and chord structures ingeneral, that I was able to arrange it myself. For those of you that are musicians, you'll understand that this is the best case scenario. She was also the recipient of the "Ards Guitar Festival Lifetime Achievement Award" that night. Widely acclaimed artists such as Davey Graham, John Renbourn, John Martyn, Arty McGlynn, Martin Simpson, Gordon Giltrap, Pierre Bensusan and Martin Carthy also hold this prestigious title. I highly recommend seeing her live and acquiring her albums. A competent instrumentalist, vocalist and general entertainer that won't disappoint. Cónan Kilcoyne - Luthier
Greetings Sarah, Congratulations on receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award at Ards International Guitar Festival. A couple of years ago, my wife and I attended your enchanting concert in little Zumbrota Minnesota. wishing you all the best, - Mark
Sarah's show at Praa Sands and District community centre was extremely popular with the audience and everyone who attended had a great evening! The songs were all beautifully performed. It was a pleasure to have Sarah and Martin at the centre and we're looking forward to welcoming them back in the future!
I enjoyed listening to some of your songs online after reading the article in the Takoma Park News from October. I'm sorry I missed your show at the Seekers Church. Maybe another time ...
The incredible talent that is Sarah McQuaid shone at Stirling Folk Club on Monday night. The sound that is produced between Sarah and her sound engineer Martin is amazing. Thank you once again good luck with all your projects for next year. Look forward to seeing you again in the future.
Sarah hadn't performed in Cambridge before last night, so many of the audience at the gig organised by Strummers were unfamiliar with her music. Yet by the end of the evening she had gained a lot of new fans, who were entranced by the range and richness of her delightful voice and the deftness and intricacy of her guitar playing. Gentle and powerful songs from her latest album "Walking into White" and from her back catalogue, including some amazing covers. It was very moving to hear Sarah perform John Martyn's tribute to Cambridge's own Nick Drake, "Solid Air".
Sarah's 10-20 concert at Wardsboro Town Hall exceeded all expectations. She delighted the audience with her entertaining stories, mesmerized them with her amazing voice, and together with Martin provided us with a classy and sensational evening of marvelous entertainment. Hosting them was an absolute joy in every way.
We had Sarah at Millis Library in October 2016 and she was terrific! The audience - around 50 people on a Tuesday night - absolutely loved her vocals and guitar. Martin was a big hit with the sound board too. We'd have them both back in a heartbeat.
Sarah played a fantastic set at Warwick Public Library in Rhode Island. She pleased us all in profound ways, and I will happily book her again. Her tunes from her latest recording were especially intriguing, and I spent the next morning spinning Walking Into White twice to see if I could solve the mysteries in those songs. I didn't, but I'll certainly try again. Sarah and her road manager Martin are easy to work with and absolute delights. Don't hesitate to bring Sarah in for a show. Your experience will be meaningful and worthwhile.
Sarah played at my house concert series - Notes From Home in Montclair, NJ - and brought out a great and supportive crowd. Sarah's skill at DADGAD guitar, her enthusiasm for her musical influences, and her clever use of loops and percussion made for a delightful evening of music.
I've known of Sarah for a while by way of her DADGAD guitar book but, to my shame, was unfamiliar with most of her musical output. While doing research prior writing a press release for her recent appearance the White Horse Black Mountain it became obvious that this was a show I had to catch. Gorgeous, perfectly controlled vocals melded with clean, creative guitar work, as well as some tasteful digital looping from sound engineer Martin that perfectly served the songs. I've been around the music world for a long time as a performer and a fan and this was the best solo show I've seen in some time. Sarah McQuaid is a complete pro.
My wife, Carol, and I hosted Sarah for the first time on Saturday, October 1 and immensely enjoyed her performance. With the assistance of her sound engineer, Martin, she produced a concert with a number of interesting effects. Perhaps the most remarkable one was when she did a three part round in 4/4 time with a drum back beat in 5/4 time. All in all a lovely performance and we look forward to hosting her again.
Sarah (with terrific sound system support from Martin) blessed our friends with a wonderful, heartfelt show pf music at "Jubilee House Concerts" in Duluth last night...the final evening of September. Thank you! Spread the word....it's amazing to us how many people over the years have asked, "What is a house concert?" Sarah performs a great answer to that question! See her, hear her!
Magic happened at Sarah's house concert on Thursday night here in Ridgway, Colorado! Sarah's luscious voice, haunting lyrics and beautiful guitar filled our home and enchanted our friends! She touched hearts. If you have an opportunity to see Sarah live, GO!
After Sarah's performance a couple of audience members thanked me for such a beautiful concert. Her voice and music are so lovely and soothing. Living out here in the Wild West with little or few amenities we appreciate this little nugget of enjoyment.
Hello Sarah, GarageMaHall thanks you for the wonderful show this past Friday. I had numerous positive comments from the audience; especially the wonderful effects that Martin crafted into several of your songs. Your poster goes onto the GarageMaWall of Fame today. It was a pleasure talking about the "biz" with you and Martin. Wishing you much success on the remainder of your 2016 USA tour. Don't forget, you now have a place in Las Vegas.
As mentioned before, Sarah, I believe you raised the light on Planet Earth significantly with your Winnsboro performance on the Bowery Stage! We appreciate being a part of this 2016 tour, and may the remaining shows be equally enjoyable for you & Martin [The Wizard]! Peace and Love :-)
I saw Sarah today at the American Museum, Bath. I spoke briefly with her afterwards. Her music and sound is brilliant. So much so, I'm looking for one of her tracks as exit music for my film. The film is about interviewing ghosts who have been wronged in life. What track would you recommend?
Hallo Sarah, I will thank you once more for your great gig you did here at the Esway Atelier. I enjoyed it very, very much en the audiance too, I think. Hope to see you and Martin again soon , Greetz Geert
Hi. Just discovered you in my CIYH newsletter; I see you'll be performing at Chatt Hills (a friend treated me to one of their shows last fall in Atlanta) and closer to home in Montclair October 15--is that Outpost in the Burbs or Notes from Home House Concerts? I think I'm already booked that evening, but will catch you somewhere down the line. Beautiful, rich tone in your vocals. :)
I look forward to meeting you in McKinney, Texas. I am an old rock and blues guitarist and look forward to expanding my abilities after attending your workshop.
Bonjour! J'aime tes chansons, elles sont trop belles, magnifiques. Elles dégagent une vraie émotion. J'écoute souvent Walking Into White et The Sun Goes on Rising, j'aime bien aussi The Silver Lining. Tes musiques sont devenues pour moi une source d'inspiration. Merci. Pierre Carlier, Paris.
Thanks for a very enjoyable gig at Stonehaven Folk Club. Great songs and sound. I loved the way you managed to make guitar in DADGAD sound like a lute! We hope the last two gigs of the tour go as well as Friday's!
Lovely concert by Sarah at The Hearth, Horsley, near Newcastle upon Tyne on Friday evening. Soulful, intimate songs with fascinating stories behind them. Very professionally presented with brilliant technics by sound-man Martin.
Hello old friend from Philly. I am happy to see your success. If you are in the Us, California or Florida let me know Greetings Alex
Sarah has a special talent that shines beyond the normal range of most other singer-songwriters and has a wonderful rapport with her audiences. Her compositions may have been influenced by a number of musical genres but they remain uniquely her own, even the few covers Sarah performs sound as if she wrote them too. I must also give a mention to her sound engineer/roadie/manager/friend, Martin, for the fabulous work he does to ensure that Sarah sounds as good live as she does on her recordings, if not better! If I had to describe Sarah McQuaid's music in one word then it would be "Sublime".
Hi Sarah, thanks for a lovely concert yesterday in Zaandam and hope it was great for you, too (despite you being locked up in the toilet. At least well before the start of the concert). For us it was a welcome return to a more intimate venue (one of three we use), perfect for this really. Safe travels and I trust we'll see you again sometime!
Great Concert on February 27, 2016 at Lottes Musicnight in Elmshorn. Thank you also for Guitar Book DADGAD . Wish you the best on your Tour in Germany. Hajo
"In our 24 years of providing the region with an on-going coffeehouse/listening room, we have seldom been graced with a finer voice and spirit than that of Sarah McQuaid. Sarah brings her unique gifts with such artistic integrity and open joy in the moment that we are all charmed into singing along with the unashamed and uninhibited response of old friends gathered round a common hearth. You'll always be glad you were there for a Sarah McQuaid show because you'll be drawn right in."
Hi Sarah! I have enjoyed your show in Bilbao just some minutes ago. I had listened a few songs from you in the past and let me tell you I have been amazed by your so special warm voice and your great skill playing guitar. Me and my wife Amaia have really enjoyed the concert. Finally I wish to thank you kindness and sympathy on stage. You have two more fans in Bilbao. Thanks for coming, Sarah!!!
Hi Sarah. Thanks for visiting us at Falkirk Folk Club and treating us to beautiful performance as always!
Over the past 10 years, we have hosted many musical evening featuring the rich and famous, but none as magical as the evening with Sarah McQuaid which totally captivated the audience from start to finish (two encores of course). We very much look forward to her returning at some stage but we shall have to be very patient considering the extensive tour schedules around the USA and Europe during which she thoroughly delights everyone with a charming blend of amazing music and delightful stories - We wish her continued success with her incredible career.
This was our first time hosting Sarah & Martin at the Rapid City Public Library. Sarah filled our library with beautiful music that everyone enjoyed. We look forward to hosting her again. Cheers!
Looking forward to chatting on my show on www.bcfmradio.com this Friday at 4pm!
On behalf of The Living Tradition Concert Series in Anaheim, California, USA, Terri and I want to express our gratitude for you including our concert series on the west coast leg of your 2015 tour. You completely charmed us all with your heartwarming songs and story telling and your generous spirit. Being able to spend some time with you before and after the concert was pure icing on the cake (to use a well-worn American idiom). Here’s hoping we see you again soon. Cheers!
Thank you Sarah for sharing your beautiful songs with us in Coyle, WA and also to Martin Stansbury for doing his magic on the sound board! Norm Johnson, host at Concerts in the Woods
Many thanks to Sarah for a lovely performance at The Focal Point last weekend! We'll look forward to seeing you again in 2018 -- and it's a pity we can't make it sooner. Peace, Dan
It was a pleasure to host you at Fremont Library in Mundelein, IL. Your voice has such clarity and your songs are so moving. It was a real treat for our audience.
What a treat to introduce Sarah to Toledo, Ohio. She provided a lovely concert in the Manor House at Wildwood for a very appreciative audience. As always Martin the master technician produced the very best sound for the room! Looking forward to next time. S
My husband, Bill, and I are truly lucky people. We met Sarah and Martin in 2015 when Sarah was performing in an adjacent town and we offered them a place to rest their heads and grab a meal for the night. After we heard Sarah we knew we wanted her to perform for our own house concert series, Free Range Concerts. We knew our guests would love to spend an evening with her and gift of music. They graced our home 9/9/15 and our Free Rangers were thrilled. Sarah and Martin are part of our family now. We love what they do and we love visiting with them while they are here. We are so grateful that they travel to the US and spread their music among us. Thank you Sarah and Martin (her Knight of Sound) for giving us such a wonderful evening of community through music. Love you both! See you next year!
What a terrific concert you provided for our very appreciative house concert audience on 9-8-15! We so enjoyed having you and Martin with us and certainly hope you will travel this way again! You're welcome ant time!
Sarah and Martin, it was a true joy to have you both and I hate y'all can't come back next year. We'll stay in touch and definitely keep us in mind for the next opportunity whenever that is. We'd go to work on the other local stages if you wanted us to. Anyway, you've got a bunch of new fans down here. If you need a better blurb, just quote that "Sarah McQuaid is as fine a talent and spirit as you can ever invite to your venue." --D. Walker "The Back Door Coffeehouse / Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA
great website and love your music! greets from wellness hotel :)
Hi Sarah, Greetings from Beith North Ayrshire. It was great to hear you live again in Glasgow last night. Superb concert. Thanks for taking the time out to chat & sign albums. Continued success for the rest of the tour. Hope to see both yourself & Martin again real soon. Keep up the good work. Regards. Eric.
Great night at the Lamb in Eastbourne yesterday. Here are the details of the book about Arthur Ransome's unpublished stories, called 'Coots in the North & other stories' ISBN 0224026054. Have a great tour, Regards, Chris
Dear Sarah, Are you aware that your newest CD is not deliverable through Bol.com in The Netherlands (although their website claims it is) ?
Hi Sarah, Looking forward to seeing you live again in Glasgow on Wed 13th May. Keep up the good work. Regards.Eric
Absolutely amazing! I love the vibes your music gives away. I would love to hear you live some day. :) Cheers from greenwastegirl
Sarah: I greatly enjoy your music and style. In the process of ordering your DADGAD book and CD. I wish you'd come to Madison Wisconsin (during the Spring, Fall or Summer - to cold in Winter :) to do a workshop. I'd guarantee to fill the house. Your friend in making music. George DelaGardelle Oh, got any promo codes while I'm ordering? :)
Beautiful music! Will look forward to seeing you live if you ever come to Liverpool!

great music
Really enjoyed the whole experience - your stay with us as well as the lovely gig. Looking forward to next time.
Many thanks for great show at Royal Oak. Fantastic feedback from all who attended.
Just wanted to say what a really excellent show in Barnes. You have a great voice, interesting self penned songs and a good choice of an occasional cover, especially Solid Air.
Glad we met! Nice site, too! All The Best, Joseph
Sarah, Thank you for sharing your gift with us and our friends. We so enjoyed having you here, and your songs and stories delighted all of us. Please come back and see us soon! Fondly, HCHC
Many thanks Sarah for the wonderful concert that you performed for us. We hope that we can book you again in the near future.
There isn't another voice like it. Other musicians must be jealous of her muse. The performance was impeccable. And of course there is always Master Martin the magician. Wonderful indeed.
Stopped by the library today to get some books for my daughter and we heard we you playing. It was very amazing...
What a treat and a privilege to get to host you and your beautiful music in my venue on 9/23. A wonderful show! We do so hope you'll come back and play another show if you're ever passing through our neighborhood again. Best wishes to you in all your music, travels, and life
Sarah, what a wonderful performance last night! The audience was truly spellbound. I spoke to three different people who were moved to tears by three different songs! I think I was most moved by your rendition of "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face," but it was hard to pick a favorite. Of course, it wasn't all tears, you were funny too! And I would come to see you just to hear your guitar playing! It was a pleasure having you & Martin in our home, Sandra & I both really enjoyed it. I hope to see you again soon ... & I'm really looking forward to the new record!
Sarah, Your performance at Logan Street Sanctuary in Noblesville, Indiana was a joyous triumph. The guitar was exquisite, and the hypnotic DADGAD tuning was delicious. Your voice carried us to the Irish Isles, and your beautiful songs were joyous, poignant and mysterious. The topper was having you and master sound craftsman Martin Mc Stansbury stay overnight to swap laughter and stories over food and drink. We are deeply smitten, and we eagerly await your return to Indy next year. Sharing you with our friends will be a delight. Let’s do it!
Well, I bought your book about 20 years ago (still dipping into it) and will try my absolute hardest to see you in Doncaster. I'll be the one watching your fingers intently going 'Nah, that's just not possible!'
Sarah was just fantastic - she had a sold out audience captivated from start to finish at Ards Arts Centre, Co. Down. A beautiful voice and technically accomplished player, Sarah you are welcome back anytime - Ards loved you!
Last fri concert at square chapel halifax just super Poor attendance ,halifax is loss. See you again Ray Marshall mirfield
Sarah, I still remember your performance in Cleveland. I was the sponsor and will never forget your singing. Like an angel. I hope you perform in Cleveland Ohio soon. I tried to convince Ted Turner to start a cable show with newquality talent, not like those trash network shows. I sent in one of your flyers with a disk of my friend classical guitarist Carlo Pezzimenti, who studied with Segovia in Spain and teaches guitar in Dallas. Never got a response. Must have a gatekeeper who just trashes all the goofy ideas (not mine!) he gets. Stay well and happy days.
We had the absolute pleasure of Sarah coming to play a House Concert. Everyone who attended had a great night and a wonderful journey through songs that were beautifully played and sung.
Thank you once again Sarah for a lovely evening of entertainment. I do hope that you will return to Rayleigh again sometime. Blessings, Maureen Druce
Hi Sarah, Great concert last night in Star Folk Club in Glasgow. I've admired your music for a long time now. Thanks for taking the time out to chat.Hope to see you live again soon. Regards. Eric.
Hi Sarah, thanks again for your wonderful Concert in the "Fahrradkeller" in Berlin. Hope to see you again.
Hi Sarah, Looking forward to seeing you live in Glasgow soon. Last time heard you live was in Kilmarnock (superb gig). Keep up the good work. Regards. Eric
I'm trying to learn The Blackbird from your DADGAD guitar book. I would love to hear how it is supposed to sound as I can't find any versions of The Blackbird online that seem to bear any relationship to the tune. I did look for De Danann's album but can't find it. Thanks!

very good music!

Hi Sarah.... was nice to have met you at Rice Fest! Miller and I enjoyed your company and your music...we listened to it all the way home on Monday. Hope to see you around the bend! Please tell Martin hi from us!
I was recently turned on to your music. I must say I find it wonderful do you have any Boston visits on tour. Perhaps Brighton Music Hall or such. hope to hear from someone regarding tour dates. Maybe Im looking in the wrong place on your site??? Keep playing and singing, gods blessings.
Having stumbled upon "The sun comes up each morning" by chance I look forward to exploring the rest of your work and to seeing you play live x
I listend to you on Celtic Crush yesterday as I was driving down the highway. I really enjoyed you and look forward to seeing you when you come this way.
Hi Sarah I am an old friend of Feargal's he used to know me about 20 odd years ago through his old girlfriend Sara. Please tell him I was so sorry to hear about his Dad dying as I work in RTE now I got the news this morning. Thank you. x
Loving the music and looking forward to the US tourdates!
My local radio station KZMU Moab,UT played your interview with Art of the Song out of Albuquerque, NM. You're a beautiful new voice and wordsmith. Hope to catch you in the U.S. with love, Steve
Hi Sarah I wanted to thank you for your generous comments on my songs tonight in Edinburgh. I'd also like to thank Martin for his brilliant work getting the sound I was looking for. It was a very good night. Well sung and well played! Tom
Lovely Lady's Night in the cosy place of Moergestel yesterday. I'm happy with your CD's and now enjoying your YouTube channel. Your Dutch is incredible! Hope you're having another splendid night in Germany tonight!
Hi Sarah, many, many thanks for a great concert at Linnenschmidt's in Venne, Germany. I hope you will come back some day. Greetings from Klaus, the German-Irish Monaghanman
I like your music, it makes me happy. I live in the Oshkosh Wisconsin area so by that I'm sure you realize I'm sort of big-time when it comes to music critiquing. Anyways, I also am a singer and one time I was at karaoke at the VFW and I went up to sing and stole the show. I sang for 3 straight hours, until everyone left. The bartender told me it was the greatest he had ever heard and I should be a superstar. Someday! If you want to collaborate drop me a line!
Sarah's gig at Southport's Bothy last weekend has been well written up for the Fatea website and there's little I could add to what is, a very positive review. Quite simply it was masterful - she's always pitched her game dauntingly high and this was no exception. As a Club Organiser I'd just like to add how refreshing it was to experience Martin Stansbury's craft behind the sound desk. If everyone who used a PA had as skilled and senstive a soundman as he, then the acoustic scene would be a far, far better place. Any fellow organisers out there still equating sound systems with volume, and we know this CAN sometimes still apply, should be aware, it's certainly not true when it comes to Martin - I erm, wish we could have him at the Bothy every week!
Sarah (with Martin Stansbury on sound) played our venue on October 16. Our audience was enchanted and delighted by her. This was a Tuesday night and we had a better crowd than we have had for some weekend shows. Obviously, they knew this was going to be special, and special it was! Thanks Sarah and Martin. See you next time!
I'm a little late in mentioning this, but it was great - as always! - to have Sarah here at Elderly Instruments last Sept., teaching her two DADGAD workshops. Her book is a perennial best-seller, but there's nothing like having her professional, personable self here in person. Her students loved it, and so did we. Hope to see you again soon, Sarah!
Dear Sarah, Thanks for bringing beauty, ballads and boundless bravado to the stage at "Weil Sing" house concerts in Takoma Park, MD, USA on Oct.6,2012. Your mind numbing performance schedule still translates into a very unique concert each time thanks to your love and ability to play and sing. It was wonderful to meet you, hear you sing and see the ear to ear smile of Martin as he soavoured the delicious MARMITE we keep close at hand, OK, "I" keep close at hand.=) Pace yourself and as one of many comments after the show read, "Sarah has such a variety of songs, yet each is like a thread which ultimately weaves a wonderful tapestry". Thank you!
Our house concert was the best yet, best sound, best performance, best evening. Thank you Sarah and Martin for such a great performance. We'll definately do it again.
When next release? daryl_simms@umbro.co.uk
I just discovered you. Oh well, I'm always late to the party. I'm buying your cds and book as I type-

Hi Sarah I met you yesterday at BBC Radio Lancashire and you performed wonderfully.Keep that gorgeous smile, such a pleasing experience to hear you sing live.I must say I enjoyed joining in singing the chorus.Good luck for the future and thanks for the photos you let us take.God Bless Peter
I've been so lucky and happy enjoying such a wonderful time at Sarah's gig in London's Folkmob, last Wednesday ! Harmony and Grace have been poured in a very simple but noble and intimate place. Unforgettable....! Thank you !
amazing performance at Folk Mob! Thank you.
Hi Sarah. A great gig at Crusoe's in Castlerock on Friday night - your new stuff is a great development on your previous (super) repertoire so keep this up. Take it easy William
Love the music! You are truly talented :) Cheers Dan
dear Sarah, (and Martin) we totally enjoyed your concert and visit to our house in Haarlem..and hope to welcome you again! Hugs, Yvonne
Hi Sarah, thank you so much for sending me your latest album: "The Plum.." is a pure and delicate gem condensing all your influences and many virtues. I'm just playing a track in my radio show here in Italy and more will be on air soon! Have a great Spring. Massimo
it was very nice, to enjoy your performance at the Kellerbistro in Huttwil! A small report will appear next week in the "Unter-Emmentaler" - and i will send you 5 fotos as soon as possible. A lot of succes on tour - and with your children! friendly Felix
Danke viu Mau! Your voice and your words touched the soul of our little "town" Huttwil in the heart of Switzerland and of course also my heart and soul:-) Next time I will sing, I will sing in gratitude - maybe one day together with you. Best wishes and a safe journey back home! Liebi Grüess, Christina
Dear Sarah, Iam organising a very local, very rural Talent Show a Withiel Village Hall, Cornwall on April 28th 2012. I am trying to call upon everyone within two parishes, but especially the children, and give them an opportunity to shine and to be encouraged to put themselves forward. What iam also looking for is a small number of musicians who could come and play and inspire, the children. In looking at your website, i came across the beautiful piece of music and was wondering if you could come and do a workshop with the children at St Wenn School so that they, and any other members of the community, can perform that Beautiful Earth song at the Talent Show. The children have been studying about the Environment this year so it would be really fitting. It is a big ask, but you dont get anywhere if you dont ask!! I realise that you are on tour presently, If you are able to help, it would be the cherry on the cake for our small yet vibrant community. With my kindest regards, Angeselle.
It was a treat having you and Martin as our guests. The show on march 4th in De Oude Remise was lovely and had the audience totally spellbound. Thank you very much for being the persons you are. Peter and Leni
Sarah & Martin, Thank you for a very nice concert at our little theater. Your latest album is great, must say that with your solo-performance you did great, despite you having a cold, many greetings & success , Kees & Ad & the Razzmatzz crew
Your VIA concert in Manaton went down really well, lots of praise expressed by audience. Intelligent and poignant writing that I really related to and many have remarked on your warm and open personality which really came across in the performance. We enjoyed your company and hope that Sarah is enjoying a great family Christmas time and that Martin will find time to enjoy his between panto performances!
Just wanted to say a big thank you to Sarah and Martin for a great gig at West Lane Baptist Centre on the 25th November 2011. The comparisons with singers like Sandy Denny and the description of a voice like "mature Cognac" are well deserved, and your company after the gig was very enjoyable... even if smurf did get overly drunk and fall over after threatening everyone with an olive fork :-) And the feedback I have had from the DADGAD workshop attendees has been wonderful (one guy is apparently sitting on a ferry in Cork playing hornpipes in DADGAD tuning as I type and tells me that his confidence has come on no end:-) )
Well done for a great gig Sarah. The whole experience was a delight. We do hope you both will be back. (Give my regards to Flossie when you gig together!)
Really enjoyed your performance last night at Haddington Folk Club, Sarah. What was great was the variety of your material and your amazing delivery of it. And how you keep so fresh after your long time on the road. So glad I bought your CD - so much interesting stuff to read on the insert. Good luck! Anne
Sarah You certainly 'Wowed' the crowd at Gregson Lane Folk Club. I don't think that anyone, who was there, will ever forget that wonderful evening especially your fabulous songs and endearing smile. Good luck with the rest of the tour. Graham.
Thanks Sarah for a really lovely evening. "The first time ever I saw your face" was outstanding. We had lots of positive feedback. Enjoy the rest of your tour.
Thank you, Sarah, for appearing at Hall for Cornwall at our first Platform performance. It was a treat for all of us. You have such a lovely voice and those hear-a-pin-drop moments were magical. I love when somebody does that!
We so enjoyed your concert here at frogstop October 16. And you and Martin were such wonderful overnight guests! We've never had a guest artist more thoughtful than you. Best of luck with the rest of this year's tour! Greg & Cathy frogstop house concerts
Look forward to talking with you and catching your show tomorrow in Phoenix (and always fun to return, albeit briefly, to my home town). Best, Henry
Dear Sarah I'm very impressed by your performances on youtube especially when you sing unaccompanied. You play well but I prefer the time and spaces you give the songs acapella. I'm from England and am a lifelong lover of traditional songs.
Wonderful show in Three Rivers. Certainly the finest all-acoustic performance I have ever attended. Haunting vocals, songs you hear in your head waking up days later. Seemingly effortless performances that nail you to your seat. Anyone in webshot of this comment should check Sarah's tour schedule and get to the show! Stephen Eric Berry Ann Arbor, MI
You are amazing
I heard a performance of yours on WFMT and I fell in love with your music! I'll be hunting down your CDs now. Keep it up please! Peace! Daryl
I have never heard your music until hearing you play in Boston. You were amazing!
All my respects for your beatiful job and guitar skills. Your DADGAD book is a #1 reference to my students. Thank you and all the best, Julio.
Many, many thanks Sarah for coming to Scawby Village Hall last week everyone enjoyed the performance very much indeed. You are a lovely warm person with a beautiful voice and I personally hope to see you again one day. Also thanks to Martin for making the show such a success. Several people have stopped me in the village to say how much they enjoyed your singing and playing and I am proud to have played my part in bringing you to Scawby. Very best wishes from Rosemary
Why did I not buy 3 CD's?
I really loved your concert this afternoon at Nieuwe Statenzijl so much! I like your warm voice, your music and your humour! Thanks a lot!
Sarah, It's never too late to say thank you for the wonderful performance you gave at Chasham: Tudor Folk Club in October. You have made a lasting impression on me, my friend Margaret said she thought you were amazing also. Thank you for letting us sit at the front that night. You have a natural talent in what you do and so modest and sincere, you will go far. All the best and I hope to see you again in the future. Jocelyn
Hi Sarah, when are you playing Glasgow again ?I look forward to hearing you soon I hope.Did you have a good Christmas? yours in folk Michael Whyte xx
Hello Sarah, I've just ordered both your CDs and I'm very much looking forward to welcoming you to the lovely village of Scawby in North Lincolnshire March 26th 2011. I hope you're enjoying your tour of the US, very best wishes.
I enjoyed your concert tonight over at Dr. Chase's house. Wishing you luck on the rest of your trip :-) P.S. Thanks for doing a Scottish song for us members of the Memphis Scottish Society. That was really nice!
Love your music!
Undoubtedly one of the best artistes to come out of the folk movement in the last 20 years or so. A powerful presence, solid technique and a wonderful voice. We all admire, support and love you Sarah.
Nice Site, Keep up the work
New Fairfield COffeehouse CT. USA (what tuning did you do Mr Bojangles in) thanks 203-470-2441
Sarah, an alternative venue that would get you some exposure in the area could be the Black Swamp Feastival in Bowling Green Ohio. It is very near the campus of the large Bowling Green State University and the festival features art as well as nationally known musical artists of many genres, just a thought. It is held around late August, Labor Day.
I found you while I was surfin'; a beautiful heartfelt sound! Come to Ann Arbor Michigan if you get the chance, The Ark maybe.
I sit here listening to your work and wonder how I did not come across you before now. Anyway it is always welcome to have something new and wonderful enter your life. You are a fine artist and I wish you all the luck in the world.
Hi Sarah Saw you last night (19 May - your birthday!) at Folkmob, Eltham, and very much enjoyed the gig. I must brush up on my DADGAD! Ian
Great stuff
Great page
Saw you at Weobley Sarah - absolutely wonderful again! From the moment you started the a capella "Wondrous Love", I was absolutely spellbound. Can't wait to get your next CD - "Plum tree and the Rose" sounded fabulous.
Hi Sarah. I attented your Great Bend show with my wife, and needless to say, we were both very impressed. You are a very talented lady and your concert was very enjoyable. We both thought that the way you had the audience participate on so many songs was a breath of fresh air compared to an average concert. We hope to attend a future concert and hopefully next time I will have the courage to join you in singing your Canon! Thanks for sharing your talent with us! Good luck to you in all your future endeavors.
Hi, I was surfing on myspace and ran across you. I loved your voice & musicianship immediately and downloaded both you CDs from Amazon.com. My Best A Very New FAn, Wendy

Enjoyed your wonderful voice at Saffron Walden on Friday 5th 2010
Thank you Sarah for sharing your wonderful gift of a beautiful, moving voice. You were a blessing to all at the Warehouse in Rayleigh last evening. I have already encouraged friends in Alabama to attend your performance in March. Many Blessings ..Maureen
You've got the gift!! An ear for listening and composition, and a beautiful unique voice to match. I'll be a lifelong fan. Marty
Sarah you are without doubt one of the most accomplished and professional perfomers who have played the club over the past 8 years and I will be delighted to welcome you back in the future
Thanks for last night's excellent concert. You seemed to enjoy it as much as I did.
Brilliant .... beautiful voice heard this evening on Folk on 2 ... had to buy your 2 albums and will watch outt for local live performances.... thank you!
nice to make your aquaintence
What a memorable and enjoyable evening at the Carrington Triangle Folk Club. A unique voice and lovely relaxed and intimate set. I am so glad I bought a CD so I can enjoy it all over again.
Yes! Done it! Honoured to be linked! (This was to check out if it works - and it does ;-) , liefs uit Hellevoetsluis!)
I was checking your calendar and was disappointed that no dates for Florida for your 2010 tour of US. I am co-host/DJ-Programmer for (WMNF 88.5 Community Radio Tampa) Music Of The Isles (Celtic Show). I have your first CD and if you go to our website (www.wmng.org) you can check playlists to see that I enjoy playing your music. Again, it's very disappointing that you will not be in Florida as it would be wonderful for the Tampa audience if you could come down to the station. Perhaps some future tour this could happen.
What a fabulous concert at Caythorpe. Thank you so much for a wonderfull evening. Andrew Keen and Bobbie Quick
hello, very nice and exhiting concert in munich at the greenfarmfestival ! unfourtnetly our dog(golden retriever) not sing with you. but be sure we enjoyed very much your great voice and expression ! regards claudia and walter
Great tunes, great voice!! They will love you in Chico
Dear Sarah I have been thinking about Saturday 16 May’s DADGAD workshop at the Hibernia Centre, Avonmouth and looking through your Irish DADGAD Guitar Book again. I thought I'd add some feedback in your Guest Book. I really enjoyed your workshop and I liked the way you made sure there was something for everyone. Each one of us had come along with widely different expectations and experience but you overcame this by adapting to the way the flow was going. As someone who has dabbled in open tunings, including DADGAD, for 35 years without really knowing what I was doing I certainly got a lot out of the session, which was also my first “guitar lesson”! For me it was useful to have read your Irish DADGAD Guitar Book beforehand but this was by no means a necessary requirement for a participant to benefit from the workshop. I liked too the impromptu illustrations using guitar parts taken from songs and instrumentals on your CDs. Your insight into chord structures and scales cast a new light on the reason why an open tuning like DADGAD works, in contrast to my previous hit-and-miss, limited attempts at picking out chords that sound nice. I’m sure I speak for other participants when I give a big thank you for an excellent workshop, which I would recommend to any guitarist. All the best, Adrian
Hello Sarah, I've watched all the videos on your site that I've been able to sneak in while I was supposed to be working. Can't wait for you to be in the southeastern U.S. next year!
hi sarah, have just watched the sligo video from start to finish. wonderful !!!! when are you going to give us some tab for some of these great songs..... would also be great to see your tab of mr bojangles from the dutch gig
Wonderful gig in Listowel, Wednesday: best I've heard in a very long time. And great to meet up in 3D at last.
Wonderful gig in Listowel last night: even better than the CDs, which is saying something. And great to meet up at last in 3D.
Hi Sarah... I have only just discovered you and your music. Yes I'm a bit slow... and what a lot I have been missing! Expensive discovery though; I have ordered your DADGAD book and both CD albums. I know DADGAD well but I'm now converted to open C. My playing style is more than a bit like yours - I think. I do hope to come to your gig in Scorriton if I can escape from the Plymouth Jazz and Blues Festival that night. Keep up the good work!
Hello Sarah heard you on radio Ulster, it is great to hear a singer like yourself call for people to join her on stage, as you are in N/Ireland you should visit Mountstwart in Newtownards, I work and live there and would be happy to show you around. I work for the Lady Bury who's family home this is not the NT's, have you ever played at a place could the burn in the south east of England, as a friend also could Sara her and her husbond both lost their jobs, to all this madness, she is a very good singer, she give up singing when she was told she could sing but was not prity enough to make it, has put a gruop togather could {Truly Acoustic} and is playing their at the end off the month doing an ABBA night... if you ever need a backing in that part of England let me know and I will pass it on, Sara is building a website it is not yet working but will be soon
Hi Sarah, we thoroughly enjoyed your concert in the Unitarian Church tonight. I (Philippa) was reminded at times of the wonderful voice of Joan Armatrading but there's so much more to you than that! Great lyrics and you brought tears to our eyes with your 'Last Song'. Thank you so much. Philippa and Helen
Hello Sarah again, it's Dick Farrelly's mate. Some amazing stuff here, great voice. Thanks for the kind invitation, I will move mountains to get there sooner rather than later. Can't wait. I'll ring re rates for the workshop. Thanks again. Reards Alan
Enjoyable gig at the Fookhook last Sunday : "appeltje -eitje"
Dear Sarah, Thanks for making such beautiful music to us. They're amazing! When will be Mama - "Crow Coyote Buffalo" cd released? because it states "November" time...!!! I had a listen to some clips, they sounds amazing and unique! Can't Wait!!!
Hi Sarah, While searching the web for my old love Fairport Convention/Sandy Denny, I came upon the Dutch singer-songwriter Linde Nyland - and you! Great voices, great songs, you listen also to Gillian Welch? Greetings from Holland Wim Aanen www.wimssite.nl
Hi Sarah, you did a gig recently with Niamh Parsons and my wonderful big brother Graham Dunne in the Seamus Ennis Centre in Dublin. I was wondering if you had any photos of this to go up onto your website??? It was truely wonderful evening and three of you sounded so greaceful together. Both your own and Grahams guitar palying just blended so seemlessly together, it was fantastic!!! Regards, Nicola Dunne xxx
Great gig last nite in Richhill. Leah was suppoting you. Your voice and guitar sound was amazing. The Last Song was my favourite as it related to me and Leah as my mother died weeks after Leah wsa born and never got to hold her so there was a few tears shed. Music is Leah's life and she has overcome a lot in her short life and it has been her saviour. I emailed Andy Manson someday I hope Leah will be able to purchase a guitar from him. I was glad she did her own stuff as she usually plays covers. Pity there weren't more people there to appreciate you maybe when you are next in the area Leah can support you and there will a much bigger audience. I was telling my fellow workers at St Patrick's Grammar Schol in Armagh all about you so hopefully they will buy your album I intend to get all three hadn't enough money with me last nite as Leah got the book which will be so useful to her. Thanks once again for the great nite Agatha & Philip Jordan
Sarah, it was a treat to hear your singing and guitar playing last night, and I hope we get to see you play a local gig soon. Perhaps we met at Sidmouth Festival in the Bedford - we play/dance in the Old Time session there. Looking forward to hearing you again very soon. Sibs Riesen www.buffalogals.co.uk

Take care, best wishes x
I just listened to 'When two lovers meet' again. Wow. It's one of my favourite recordings ever, so beautiful.
Hi Sarah, I'm so excited to see that you will be coming to The Netherlands again! Something to look forward to, but crikey for us Dutch folks (not used to distances) it's a long drive. Still, we'll be there, in Sevenum, where-ever that is! Also good to see that you've teamed up with another creative lady! Can't wait to hear the results. Do you think there's any chance of you visiting us in Hellevoetsluis any time soon? They're still talking about your performace you know! Do try! I'll lobby for you with De Twee Hondjes! Kind regards, Renee Koopman
Hi Sarah, My parents saw you at a small gig in Ireland a couple of weeks or so ago. They bought me your album 'When two lovers meet' and it's brilliant. Congratulations! My dad bought you as cup of tea at the interval. When they got back I took them to see Show of Hands (who they loved too) and they were full of how much they'd enjoyed your gig. Having heard the album I can understand why. Look forward to attending a gig myself.
My name is Gerard de Lange. I work for KRO television in Holland. My program tries to trace family members who have lost each other out of sight and, if they want, reunite them. For one of our clients I am looking for Patrick Gerald Woods. He might be the one that is on your site reacting april 10th 2007. Could you please give me his emailadress or let him know that I like to have contact with him? Thanks. Kind regards.
Hi Sarah, Have heard you last week in Hellevoetsluis and was completely bowled over! You've made an already good concert an amazing one. Please make certain your new CD will be available in The Netherlands as well?! Your CD has been in my CD player permanently, by the way. (and this is the 2nd time I've commented, as my 1st comment seems to have gone astray... never mind) Kind regards, en hopelijk tot ziens, Renee
Hi Sarah, Have heard you in Hellevoetsluis and was completely bowled over...you've made an already good concert an amazing one. Your CD has been in my CD player permanently since then, and I can't wait to hear the new one. Please make it available in The Netherlands too!
I just heard your song "When two lovers meet" and was blown away. More please!
Very nice site, beautiful voice, great music, good pics. Well done.
Thanks for sharing the performance clips: what a gorgeous guitar, no wonder you're delighted with it. But what prompted me to write was the singing, which has gone to a whole 'nother level. Seriously, you have now joined the very short list of people I would stand in the snow to hear singing the phone book (not that any of ye would be so daft as to do such a thing). Of course this presents you with a new "problem": if the songs sound so good unaccompanied, why play guitar at all? Well, I'll trust you to figure that one out.
hi sarah!!First of all...I'm sorry!!my english is terrible!!!Sorry & sorry again!!!Now I try to explain clearly my thougts(oh my God!)Well...have you an italian distributor(or an italian label)for your cd's & book?I discover your name in an old issue of guitar techniques(november 2007 I think)& I'm interested about your works!thank you for all!!by!
Hi Sarah just listened to your songs online i'm the organiser for the tyneside irish festival in Newcastle upon tyne in 2007 we put on 10concerts + 10 day festival in oct which was our 21st
came in from the cold in Lossiemouth last night and left with warm glow which had nothing to do with the peat fire. Keep up the fine fine work & hopefully see you come back to us soon.
Just to thank you for an excellent concert - the first of your Scottish Tour - in Strachur on Friday evening. The atmosphere was really great and you very quickly established a close rapport with the small but appreciative audience. The informal chat during the interval was great. The Manson sounded great too!
Thanks for your kind remarks. It's always a valued honor for me to provide artists of your calibre with the necessary tool. It was inspiring and informative to the work seeing and hearing you at the Phoenix in Exeter. Can't wait to experience your music with the new instrument............ Best wishes Andy www.andymanson.com
Hi Sarah, My names Terri and i see your lovely husband at work sometimes, what a nice husband you have!! He has told me about your beautiful music, i really had no idea how fantastic this folk music was until now listening to your gorgeous voice!! Absolutely Fabulous!!! Hope to meet you sometime soon Sarah!! Lots of love Terri and Marc xxxx
Sarah, What happened in "De Fookhook" last Sunday was pure magic !!. We are running our folkclub for 16 years now but I never experienced such a thrilling interaction between artist and audience who rewarded you with three encores !! You have the ability to create a intimate athmosphere with your stories, songs and guitar playing and make the audience part of the gig. Thank you so much for that....and we'll stay in touch!! Piet Snellen - De Fookhook Sevenum www.fookhook.nl
didnot know you when I came to the fookhook in Sevenum. Wonderful performance. Could not understand your nr 8 track on the cd, but got tears in my eyes. BEAUTIFUL, thanks and lots of success; you deserve it.
Sarah. Wonderful musical artist AND teacher..I have been playing a tenor guitar for a time tuned ADAD.I purchased your DADGAD book for a present to myself..It is truly fantastic...Thank You so very much..Ian
Hi Sarah. Loved seeing you at Otterton Mill and at Exeter Phoenix. Thought you were better than Cara Dillon!!!! Been playing 'When 2 lovers meet' ever since - superb CD
Hi Sarah. A bit late I know, but what a beautiful CD. This has now been added to my 'favourites' collection, look forward to the new one next year. Frank x PS When are you going to travel further north for some gigs eg Lancashire?
Hi Sarah, Nice site, like your music. It s nice too,to see my photo in your photobook. Hope to see more of you in future time. Meanwhile I can listen to your beautiful cd. One of my favourites of all the cds I bought in Sidmouth, during this great festival. Its nice to see you r doing so much performances in Cornwall,in places i loved so well during my visit there,so many years ago. Love. xxxKarin.
Hi Sarah, Finally got round to signing your guest book. Great site. Good luck in your new home and career. See you back in Knockcroghery in April. Take care, DC
Just heard Sarah's voice for the first time there on BBC Radio Scotland. Excellent, absolutely beautiful voice.
Love the album and can't wait for the new one. Looking forward to talking to you on Thursday.
Hi Sarah, I was one of the "crowd" in the bailey on sunday night, I originally saw you in the Sky and the ground in Wexford and was very impressed! keep it up. Paul.
Comparisons with the great June Tabor are complements. Consider June as the closest metaphor one can find to express your extraordinary voice and phrasing. We miss you in Dublin. Have you considered the Pavilion, the Mermaid, the Civic.the John Field Room...Honor Heffernan has been there (fruitfully) as has Fionnual Monks and Derby Brown. Wishing you continued radiant flourishin in your lovely career.
Hi Sarah, good luck with the tour, hope to catch your gig in Ballina. Best wishes Studio7 Ireland www.studio7.ie
ciao, la tua voce è incantevole. don loopis (www.desilenziazioni.it)
What a surprise to find freshness for my ears. I have listened to Pierre play first mandolin and then DADGAD since (Paris) 1972. I marvel at how smoothly you bar the fretted stretcher of strings. Now we say, a pretty girl proves herself upon the wood and wire. I will listen to you in Navan. Your voice brings no pain only sadness.
My wife and I are on Holiday in Dublin. We turned on RTE One TV and saw Sarah perform "When Two Lovers Meet". Well it sent a sonic arrow right through my heart and was one of the most beautiful things I've heard in a long while. Just downloaded the album. Thanks for making this wonderful music! -Jim Cowgill www.sequenox.com
Hi Sarah, was at your gig in Sky and the Ground in Wexford tonight and was very impressed! please keep me posted of any further gigs down these parts. Paul.
hello, your Work is one of these few ones that have landed out and away from crowd towards beauty. Keep going, the Muses will pay you back. Mario
Hello Sarah, Love your web site and listening to the music is like walking with a good friend through the Irish landscape. Good Luck. Love, Annie
Hi Sarah, Great to see you're back performing again! Hope Eli and Lily Jane are doing well. I'm still in The Dock Arts Centre in Carrick on Shannon, so drop by if you are in the vicinity (were you in Sligo at jazz guitar fest in September/Oct?). Anyway, well done on the site - it's lovely. Hi to Fergal and hope to see ye soon. Siobhán
About time you started performing again you were sadly missed .Let me know if you are coming state side. Good luck with the album and the move. Best wishes to all the family
Hello, Good luck with the reissue and we hope that you had a bit of Thanksgiving there. We hate for you if you did not. The website is terrific. Thanks for sharing it with us. Toni and Jamie and the kids
Very impressive stuff. I knew about the guitar playing but had somehow missed out on the wonderful singing until now. Great production too. Best of luck, Paul de Grae.
Janet (wife) and our three cats love Irish music and DADGAD. I play the guitar in DADGAD and everyone gets calmed. We would like to see you play/sing in person. Your voice reminds us of the late Eithne Ni Uallachain of La Lugh. All good wishes Patrick visit www.rossaero.com
Well done Sarah!! Good luck with everything. Niamh xx
Hi Sarah, Great to here from you and I wish you all the best for the future. I really like your new website, good luck with it, hope our path's cross again further down the road.

Hi Sarah, Good to hear your out playing again. Classy website! Perhaps we meet up at a gig one day? Keep us posted. Love Ronald
Very elegant website. I'll forward it to Linn. How lovely that you've taken up your guitar again! Much love, C.
Sarah- I stumbled across your site tonight. It looks terrific. I am glad to see that you are up to... much good! May there be blessings and amusements in your life, Lloyd
It was nice to read all about you in your bio. I was born in Trail BC Canada 1931 and then returned to Donegal with my parents in 1933. I came to Canada in 1953 by myself and have been here since. I have a Donegal accent but with the passage of time I have lost all my mother language. I am trying to get your DADGAD book with the CD but it seems very scarce on this side of the Atlantic. That is all for now. I remain, Yours truly, Jim Bracegirdle.
